EasyRider

Easy Rider

1969.

Directed by Dennis Hopper (written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Terry Southern).

Easy Rider is one of the best road movie of all times.

The story is about Wyatt (nicknamed Captain America) and Billy, riding two choppers, who want to reach freedom by achieving their trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans.

Through their journey, they met different people representing America during the 60’s : a rancher, a hippy who lives in an autonomus community, a laywer that decides to join them…

Dennis Hopper succeed in showing and defining freedom. Who is brave enough to get on a bike, leave everything behind and ride across a country nowadays? The photography is brilliant and the locations are breathtaking. The soundtracks composed by Jimi Hendrix, Steppen Wolf, The Band… on the top of the images deliver the right message.

Jack Nicholson, in a supporting role, is, if not better, as good as Hopper and Fonda.

This movie is fantastic, check the trailer and get yourself a copy.

“This used to be a hell of a good country. I can’t understand what’s gone wrong with it.”
