The drifter tells the story of Rob Machado going alone to Indonesia after a long and successful surf career.
Rob spent almost 6 months alone in Bali and the islands around (Sumbawa, Java and Lombok), to surf some of the world’s best waves, and this, alone in the water.
This documentary is all about finding who you are and where you want to go, a bit too much to be honest. But the movie is simply beautiful with the surf’s images (amazing barrels, crystal water…), the incredible Indo’s landscapes. He succeed to get shots alone on the most popular and busy waves around.
You have to see this if you have been there, and even if you did not!

very true my dear friend… j’ajouterais quand même que le mec en rajoute des tonnes dans sa quête de spiritualité et de je ne sais plus où j’habite et qu’il est bien content d’avoir ses sponsors pour l’accompagner dans ses trips pseudo en solo…
mais il est vrai qu’esthétiquement il n’y a rien à redire, le film est très beau

Après comme le dit la beauté, il en fait un peu des tonnes à vouloir s’écarter de ce qui le fait vivre, les tongs reefs, les montres nixon, les hélicos pour les plans originaux de surf…
